This was such a fun custom order! The client ordered seven sets of the Wee Bunny in a Tin House to include in activity bags for children who’ll be guests at her wedding. The bunny is our usual white felt, but she chose the rest of the colors – brown felt for the bear, ecru felt for the pillow, navy felt for the blanket, and buttercream felt for the mattress. Just a reminder that you can order multiples of any of these sets. The turn-around time on this custom order was under three weeks. Larger orders will take longer since all of these pieces are hand sewn.
The Wee Kitty Cat Tin House set was for the winner of the YellowBlissRoad.com giveaway. I love her color choices! The cat is done in the lilac felt.
The bottom two sets were also a custom request. The customer wanted the Tomten and Fox set made smaller and into ornaments and also requested a fawn ornament. Her daughter had helped care for an injured fawn that year and wanted an ornament to help remember the event.
The other pics show some of my most popular Christmas ornaments – the Santas, gnomes, and snowmen that I work on a LOT this time of the year!
The Wee Kitty Cat Tin House is another design influenced greatly by Larissa Holland’s Wee Mouse Tin House design. Larissa has graciously granted permission to offer these sets. Right now I only have templates in the cream and black felt, but as you can see from my felt sample charts, a rainbow of options are available to us.
The fox in a box set is probably one of my favorite sets to sew up. I love these little guys! Like my other Wee Animal sets there is the main toy – a fox in this set – a tiny teddy bear, a pillow, a blanket, a mattress pad and the Altoids tin. They are fabulous purse toys. Just pop it in your bag and pull it out when your child needs a distraction.
For some time now I’ve been making my own version of Larissa Holland’s Wee Mouse Tin House. I love Larissa’s patterns, but since I prefer hand sewing and working in 100% wool felt it was necessary to alter her pattern just a smidge to fit my preferences. Here are some examples of my Wee Mice!
