It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….

Yes, I know it’s August but that’s the time I begin creating Christmas ornaments here.  I’ve already added a new design for 2016 – the chilly owl.  He’s named the Chilly Owl because my oldest daughter said he looked cold so we decided to add a scarf to warm him up.

I’ve also begun work on my most popular line of needle felted ornaments – the gnomes.  They’ll be available in a slightly wider range of colors this year and I have opened up the custom gnome ornament listing again, but I will be accepting a very limited number of custom orders this year.  Order early before my calendar fills up!  In this photo you see a few of this year’s finished gnomes waiting for their hangers to be added.

needle felted animals

needle felted hedgehog from EarthyMamaGoods needle felted elephant from EarthyMamaGoods needle felted hen on nest - chicken - from EarthyMamaGoods needle felted poseable cat with wire armature from EarthyMamaGoods needle felted mute swan from EarthyMamaGoods needle felted grey kitten from EarthyMamaGoods needle felted puppy dog from EarthyMamaGoods needle felted hamster for American Girl dolls from EarthyMamaGoods needle felted mouse from EarthyMamaGoods

Some of my first needle felted sculptures were animals and it’s still a category that enthralls me.  I lean away from exact realism into a more fantastic style.  I try to keep these sculptures small, but the elephant became much larger in the creative process.
